Abstract:
Eczema can have devastating effects on children. Though the rashes themselves are uncomfortable and can be incredibly itchy, it is the psychological effects that occur as a result of the condition that have a lasting impact. Kids who are teased because of their rashes or because they are itchy all the time can take a blow to their self-image. Such children may become withdrawn and even depressed, affecting their behaviors as adults. Eczema further causes psychological problems because of its role in preventing sufferers from sleeping. The intense itching can keep you up for most of the night, leaving you physically and mentally exhausted. This sort of chronic fatigue can wear on you over time, leaving you feeling incapable of accomplishing daily tasks.
In this seminar, our speakers will introduce the latest clinical studies on how Paediatric Dermatological diseases will affect the psychological development of children and some sharing on the clinical cases.
